Freaks with Lines is a dance company based in Los Angeles that focuses on pushing the boundaries of ballet. They seek to subvert audience expectations of formality and priggishness while still maintaining the precision and technical skill behind the art form. Susy from Freaks with Lines reached out because they felt disconnected from their branding materials and wanted to convey a sense of refined whimsy. Don’t Be Jealous wanted to maintain the spirit of their previous logo and expand on the ways it could be iterated on for social media and graphics. The art direction plays primarily with black shapes that feel grounded and conventional, and arranging them in a way that brings chaos into the order.
